Butt doors are often found in rows of cabinets when the doors of two adjacent cabinets open towards each other. Butt doors are arranged so that there is a small space of about 1\/8\u201d between the two doors. This arrangement allows the homeowner to have more standing space, but it also makes it easier to store large objects. A butt door is frequently used on smaller cabinets due to the absence of the center stile. Since the opening is not made smaller by the center support, larger items can easily be placed inside the cabinet. Butt doors can be used throughout the house, including in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room.
