Three Questions You Need to Ask Yourself When Buying Cabinets

As you embark on the demolition of your old kitchen and the creation of your new kitchen; there are endless amounts of questions that arise. Clearing your head and focusing on the three most important aspects of your redesign will help you, not only complete your renovation, but actually enjoy the process.

Question 1: What is my budget?

Giving yourself a realistic, yet strict, budget will enable you to stay within your means. While back ordered cabinets and damaged tiles are frustrating, they are easily fixable. Getting in over your economic head is not a pleasant experience. Crunch your numbers and come up with something that you are comfortable with, and from there, you are ready to make the fun decisions.

Question 2: What type of cabinets do I want?

There are a plethora of cabinet options; you can opt for assembled cabinetry over RTA (ready to assemble), all plywood construction over particle board, and finally, custom or stock cabinetry. The choices are endless, but based on your budget and preference, there is the perfect fit for you and your family.

Question 3: Before heading to the designer is, what style of cabinets do I want?

Whether you go with a custom, semi custom, or stock cabinetry line, there is a design style that will grab your attention. You can choose from raised panel, recessed panel, or slab door styles, all before entering the realm of stains and finishes. By mixing and matching you can create a unique look that you can call your home!

Before you begin the kitchen cabinet buying process, make sure you do your homework! It’ll be a lot easier to create the kitchen of your dreams if you planned your responses to the above questions ahead of time.
