What is Wet Polishing?

Wet PolishingWet polishing is a technique used for shining granite and other hard materials frequently used in kitchen countertops. To wet polish, one must use a specific type of polishing pad. These pads are easy to identify because they are circular and have a pattern of indentions that resemble a spider’s web. These are channels that help to direct the water over the surface during polishing.

This type of polishing is conducted with the use of a handheld buffer because the best results are achieved when a high number of revolutions is applied. It would be possible to achieve the same results by hand, but the time is would take is unrealistic and impractical. It is equally important to note that the high revolutions of this polishing method are likely to spray water over nearby surfaces.
