What is Refacing?

RefacingRefacing is the process in which old cabinet drawers and doors are replaced and veneers are attached to the cabinet frames. Refacing is a cost effective approach for most homeowners who want a new look for their cabinet units.

Refacing is often used by homeowners who want to update their cabinets without replacing the entire units. During the refacing process, doors and drawers are completely replaced. The frames of the cabinets are then covered in a veneer that matches the new fronts. Cabinet refacing is a popular choice for many homeowners because it is less expensive and faster than replacing all of the cabinets in the kitchen. The cabinets of a standard kitchen can be refaced in only a few days, whereas having new cabinets installed would take much longer. The existing cabinet units must be structurally sound in order to be candidates for refacing, but many old cabinets meet the requirements without issues.
