What is a Drawer Face?

Drawer FaceA drawer face is the portion of the drawer box that is viewable even when the drawer is closed. It often has drawer handles to make it easier to open the drawer.

A drawer face is the front of a drawer. It is the portion that is used to open and close the drawer, and it is always visible. A drawer face is usually attached to the drawer box using small nails or dovetail joints. Cabinetmakers can design a drawer face that matches the cabinetry style used in the kitchen, bathroom or storage area. Some drawer faces are hardwood, while others may be covered in a veneer. Some homeowners prefer to add decorative handles to the drawer face in order to make opening and closing the drawer easier. Others prefer to leave the front of the drawer unmarred and simply open the drawer by pulling on the drawer face itself.
