What is a Sink Tilt-out Tray?

Sink Tilt-out TrayA sink tilt-out tray is used in place of false drawer fronts under a sink. The area is used to store small items, such as sponges, wash cloths, and hand soap.

A sink tilt-out tray is a small storage area between the cabinet frame and the bowl of the sink. This area is usually wasted, and false drawer fronts are used to give the illusion of storage space. Sink tilt-out trays allow homeowners to utilize the room without limiting access to the pipes for the sink, dishwasher, garbage disposal or other appliances that use plumbing. The trays may be made of plastic, stainless steel or acrylic and are available in a variety of sizes. They tilt out from the cabinet’s frame for easy access, and they can hold sponges, scouring pads, wash cloths and other small items. A sink tilt-out tray may also be referred to as a sink tip-out tray or a sink front tray.
